3. You quote convos w/ friends on away messages -
4. You have quoted a song/movie & put it up at least once a day
5. You tell everyone what you're doing in your away message - aka shower, phone, studying...you know what I'm talkin about
6. You have talked to your roomie on aim...while you're in the same room!
7. You have talked to someone on the phone & on aim @ the same time
8. You talk on aim instead of studying...the joys of procrastination!
9. You check your away message to see if people have responded to your away message...ya know, to procrastinate...

In a futile attempt to set my priorities, I have finally resigned myself to sitting down and working concentratedly at schoolwork while trying to ignore the temptation of Instant Messenger. My twelve-step therapy group has suggested that this might help loosen my fixation with chatting online with friends. Therefore, I have committed to using this away message to indicate that, although I would dearly like to settle in for a long, intimate chat with you, I'm attempting to exercise self-discipline in restricting my chatting time without taking drastic measures such as actually signing off from my screen name.
